The photographs in this section are mainly vistas with good fishing streams located somewhere in the forest. Why scenes?

Because a fly rod needs to be used.  These are good places, both for the fly fisher, and a family vacation.  Also, they are the places with strong fly angling histories.

Headwaters of the Metolius during bull trout spawning season.  Prior to the damn downstream near the Deschutes, the river was one of the major anadromous spawing sites in central Oregon.

In basic translation, “Metolius” means stinking river to Native Americans due to the smell of decaying salmon in the old days. Color photograph in book..
