The photographs in this section are mainly vistas with good fishing streams located somewhere in the forest. Why scenes?

Because a fly rod needs to be used.  These are good places, both for the fly fisher, and a family vacation.  Also, they are the places with strong fly angling histories.

C -S - Alsea Falls Color

Late October low flow near the headwater streams of one of Oregon’s Pacific draining coastal rivers. About four miles from this spot was where your writer caught his first salmon in 1962. The family farm is over the ridge to your left about six air miles.

About two air miles to your right is where the number two Roosevelt elk was taken a few years ago by a first time elk hunter {Roosevelt elk are reputed to have more massive horns than Rocky Mountain elk.}  Color photo in book.
